1. Consultation
The first step is that you consult with us about your needs. Great design requires lots of communication, that’s why we’ll ask you many questions. At the end we may provide you with a ballpark quote to give you an idea of the approximate cost (within a certain range).
2. Quote
Next, we’ll provide you with an accurate (fixed) quote. We won’t change the price unless you order additional services from us.
3. Deposit
We’ll ask that you pay a small deposit (20 to 25%) in order to get the ball rolling on your project. We don’t start any work until the deposit is paid. This is to ensure that everybody is on the same page.
4. Survey
We may ask you to answer some additional questions around this time. This is usually over the telephone but may also involve email and/or text messages.
5. Research
The best designs arise when the subject is well-researched. We’ll research your industry and your competitors to get a better idea of your requirements.
6. Brainstorming
The fun begins! We get to work thinking about the direction of your logo. We don’t always jump on the computer straight away. We may draw a mindmap to help us come up with novel ideas.
7. Work
The pressure is on for us as we begin the process of fleshing out some initial sketches for your logo. We’ll also begin to look at typography at this stage, which lends an all-important personality to your brand.
8. Work+
We continue diligently working on your project. Jumping back onto the computer again, we’ll scour our extensive typography resources to find just the right match for your particular business. We’ll fine-tune the details and ideally produce more than one design for you to choose from in the next step.
9. Comp
We send you what’s called a “comp” for you to approve (and wait anxiously/nervously). We may include mockups of what the final design would look like to help you visualise it better. You may also request changes at this stage.
10. Tweaking
We get on with modifying and finalising the design while attempting to accommodate your suggestions. While all ideas are taken on board for consideration, we reserve the right to reject certain changes if we think it is in your own best interests.
11. Delivery
We send the final files to you: several sizes of images in various file formats, in addition to the original vector files, zipped together into a convenient file package.
12. Invoice
We send you the final invoice detailing the work done, the total price and the remaining balance to be paid.
13. Payment
Usually you have 30 days to pay the remaining balance in full. We accept all major credit cards, paypal, bank deposit or cash. No we don’t accept bitcoin payments.
14. Branding
No doubt the part you’ve been waiting for! You can essentially take it from here. It’s such an important step we wanted to show you what consistent branding looks like on a fleet of imaginary vehicles. Nice.
15. Investment
There is another stage to the process and that is where you can see that your investment pays you dividends. You and your company are now represented –supported– by your new logo, your new brand.
